Orica rider: This is what happens when a hot disc brake lands on skin
Sam Bewley from Orica-BikeExchange team is the latest cyclist to warn of the dangers of introducing disc brakes into professional peloton.
The Kiwi posted on his Twitter a photo that shows a nasty injury, reportedly caused by landing on a hot disc brake, which left him with a wound to his upper arm.
“This is what happens when a hot disc brake lands on skin. Imagine a bunch crash on the road with multiple hot rotors,” Bewley wrote.

Francisco Ventoso has written an open letter earlier this year on the dangers of disc brakes in the professional peloton, claiming an injury he suffered at Paris-Roubaix was caused by one of the 32 disc bikes in the race.
